Can I have a treat day while still crushing my goals?

I get asked this question all the time, and the simple answer is, YES YOU CAN!

In FFFL, we remove treats for the first 30 days to optimize cleansing but after those initial 30 days we learn how to incorporate treats for long term success.

Its important to note that in our Fuel For Fat Loss community, we call it a treat day, not a cheat day. After all, you’re not “cheating” yourself, you’re allowing yourself a treat, with zero guilt! In fact, this is essential for long-term success with your nutrition. If you never allow yourself to have a treat, you are more likely to over-indulge later on. Hence the vicious cycle of falling off the wagon and trying to get back on again. The more you tell yourself you're not allowed to have something, the more likely you are going to want it!

So what’s the formula for TREAT DAYS?

Enjoy a treat, once a week, pair it with a great leg workout plus ensure it fits your macros for the day.

Why a leg day you ask? Well, it’s simple, our legs are the biggest muscles in our body which will allow you to burn more calories. When done right, this caloric burn can last up to 72 hours!

Allow yourself that treat once a week, and always plan ahead. In our VIP community Saturday is our treat day.

If you’re going out to eat, take a look at the menu online and choose an option that fits into your macros.

Want to take some of your usual treats and have them every day, try these healthier alternatives:

  • cauliflower crust for pizza

  • using coconut sugar instead of refined sugar

  • making fries by throwing some sweet potato wedges in the oven with a little avocado oil, salt and pepper...SO DELICIOUS!

  • mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes

  • hiding healthy veggies, such as zucchini, in your favorite baked goods - in moderation of course. * wink *

Fueling your body right is about BALANCE. Knowing how to balance proper nutrition, while still allowing yourself the treats you enjoy will lead to long term success! You should never feel deprived when making your health a priority.
